Piano & Cello Recitals with works by Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Prokofiev and Shostakovich

Piano & cello recital on Monday 10 July at the "Manos Hadjidakis" Garden Theatre in Heraklion with works by Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.

Ο Alexandros Vasilakis was born in 2003 in Heraklion, Crete and started piano lessons at the age of 8. He was a student of Michalis Dialinas and from 2019 until the beginning of his musical studies he was a student of Eleni Papaspyrou.

He has participated in piano and chamber music seminars in Greece, Germany and France with the internationally renowned pianists V.Varvaressos, A.Mouza, Catherine Klipfel, Angela Merkle etc.

In 2019 she received a Bachelor of Harmony with a grade of Excellent in the class of A. Kalogeraki. In the same year she also participated in the Greek-German orchestra Kretaburg, where concerts were held in Freiburg, Germany and in Heraklion, Crete. In 2021 he graduated from the Music School of Heraklion and entered the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia. Since 2022 he has been studying at the Louis Spohr Music Academy in Kassel, Germany with Michael Kravtchin - Head of the Piano School - as professor.

In January 2023 he won second prize at the chamber music competition <> in the category <>.

In March 2022 he gave a piano recital at the Cultural Conference Centre of Heraklion with works by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Debussy. Since then he has given solo concerts in Greece, Germany and France, as well as chamber music concerts in Germany.

Ernesto Fernández Lara. Born in Queretaro, Mexico in 1996, raised by a Cuban father and a Mexican mother, musicians, Ernesto started playing the cello at the age of 4 under the guidance of his father.

He studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt under the tutelage of Professor Jan Ickert. He previously studied in Maastricht with Alexander Petrasch and in Kassel with Johannes Weber.

He is also interested in contemporary music, where he takes lessons with Lucas Fels (Arditi Quartett) and baroque cello with Kristin Von der Goltz.

Ernesto made his debut as a soloist at the age of 10 with the "Silvestre Revueltas Youth Orchestra" in Celaya, Mexico.

He has received awards as a soloist at the international music competition "Kaunas Sonorum" in Lithuania in December 2019 and third place at the chamber music competition "Peredur" in the category "piano and cello". He has also participated in cello seminars all over the world in Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Germany, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland with teachers such as Mario Brunello, Claudio Bohorquez, Emil Rovner, Kiril Rodin, Michel Strauss, Stefan Popov and Joseph Schwab.

He plays a cello by the luthier Wolfgang Schnabl, generously provided by the German-Canadian cellist and friend of David Eggert (HKB), a professor at the Conservatory of Bern, Switzerland.
